Durbar Festival

Durbar is an annual traditional event celebrated in the Northern part of Nigeria, it features a grand parade of the Emir, warriors dressed in colourful attires, musicians process through different roots each of the three days during the Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. It is a show of military strength and loyalty to the Emir. Its cultural significance is to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan, beginning with a prayer lead by the Emir and a parade of military might with horses from the various royal families and noble men.
